RRTRA024L1M | Anderic Ceiling Fan Remote Control User Guide (2AQZU-18038 used with MR161C receiver)

The Anderic RRTRA024L1M replacement remote is designed for Harbor Breeze Reidsport 44-inch and 52-inch color-changing ceiling fans. Operating at 304.25 MHz, this remote works exclusively with the MR161C receiver and supports full fan and light functions, including color-changing features.

Pairing the Remote


  1. Install two AAA Batteries, ensuring the correct polarization. 
  2. Cycle power to the fan by the light switch or by the circuit breaker. 
  3. Press and hold the "0" key on the remote for five seconds. 

Note: Once the receiver detects the ID, the ceiling fan light will blink twice, and the fan will slow to low speed. After the AC is powered on, do not press any other buttons on the remote before pairing. Doing so will cause the procedure to fail.

Remote Functions

See Fig 1. above


  1. 1 Key - Press this key to turn the fan oscillating speed to LOW.
  2. 2 Key - Press this key to turn the fan oscillating speed to MEDIUM.  
  3. 3 Key - Press this key to turn the fan oscillating speed to HIGH.
  4. 0 Key - Press this key to turn the fan off. This key is also used for pairing with the receiver.
  5. [Light Bulb] 💡 Key -
    1. Press the light button once to turn it on. Press the button a second time to turn off the lights.
    2. Press and hold the light button to cycle through dimming.
  6. [Temperature] 🌡️ CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) Key - Changes the temperature of the light.
    1. Warm Light - Mimics the soft glow of candlelight or incandescent bulbs. Often used in living rooms, bedrooms, and restaurants to create a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
    2. Cool Light - Resembles daylight or overcast skies. Good for workspaces, offices, and retail stores where alertness and focus are desired.
    3. Neutral White - Provides balanced white light suitable for spaces that require good visibility and concentration. 

Troubleshooting

Before You Begin

Before troubleshooting, verify the following:

  • The ceiling fan has power.
  • The wall switch supplying power is turned ON.
  • The circuit breaker has not tripped.
  • Two fresh AAA batteries are installed with the correct polarity.
  • The remote is the Anderic RRTRA024L1M.
  • The receiver installed in the fan is the MR161C receiver.
  • This remote operates at 304.25 MHz and is only compatible with the MR161C receiver.

Pairing the RRTRA024L1M Remote

If the remote does not operate the fan, pair it with the receiver.

Pairing Instructions

  1. Install two fresh AAA batteries.
  2. Turn the power OFF to the fan using the wall switch or circuit breaker.
  3. Restore power to the fan.
  4. Do not press any buttons on the remote.
  5. Within the pairing period, press and hold the “0” (OFF) button for 5 seconds.
  6. Once pairing is successful:
    • The ceiling fan light will blink twice.
    • The fan will slow to Low Speed.

Remote Does Not Work

Possible Causes

  • Weak batteries
  • Remote not paired
  • Incorrect receiver installed
  • The receiver has no power
  • RF interference

Solutions

Step 1 – Replace the Batteries

Install two new AAA alkaline batteries.

Verify the batteries are installed with the correct polarity.

Step 2 – Verify Receiver Compatibility

The RRTRA024L1M works only with the MR161C receiver.

If another receiver is installed, the remote will not function.

Step 3 – Re-Pair the Remote

Repeat the pairing procedure above.

Step 4 – Eliminate Interference

If multiple compatible ceiling fans are nearby:

  • Turn off the power to the nearby fans.
  • Pair one fan at a time.
  • Stay within 10–15 feet of the fan while pairing.

Fan Does Not Turn On

Possible Causes

    • No electrical power
    • Tripped breaker
    • Loose wiring
    • Reverse switch between positions
    • Receiver failure

Solutions

Verify Power

Confirm:

  • The wall switch is ON.
  • The circuit breaker has not tripped.
  • Power is reaching the receiver.

Check the Reverse Switch

If your fan includes a manual reverse switch:

Move it fully into either:

  • Forward
  • Reverse

Never leave the switch centered.

Always allow the blades to stop completely before changing direction.


Inspect Wiring

Disconnect power before servicing.

Verify:

  • Receiver wiring is secure.
  • Wire nuts are tight.
  • Receiver connectors are fully seated.
  • No wires are pinched inside the canopy.

Light Does Not Work

Possible Causes

  • LED module failure
  • Loose light connector
  • Loose wiring
  • Light brightness set to minimum

Solutions

  • Press the Light (💡) button once to turn the light ON.
  • Press and hold the Light button to increase brightness.
  • Verify all light kit connectors are securely connected.
  • Inspect wiring if necessary.

Fan Works but Light Does Not

Possible causes include:

  • Loose light kit connector
  • Failed LED module
  • Wiring issue

Inspect all light kit connections before replacing components.

Light Works, but Fan Does Not

Possible causes include:

  • Receiver failure
  • Motor wiring issue
  • The reverse switch is not fully engaged

Inspect receiver wiring and verify the reverse switch position.

Fan Turns On by Itself

Possible causes include:

  • Nearby fan using the same frequency
  • RF interference

Try turning off nearby compatible fans while pairing.

Fan Operates Incorrectly

Examples include:

  • Incorrect speed operation
  • Light responding incorrectly
  • Random operation

Possible causes:

  • Incomplete pairing
  • Weak batteries
  • Incorrect receiver

Re-pair the remote and replace the batteries before replacing components.
