[User Guide] Xumo Stream Box and TV Remote Control
This article applies to the Hisense MG3-R34010 Xumo Streaming Box and TV Remote Control, the Element Xumo TV Remote Control, the Pioneer CP-RC1NA-23 Xumo TV Remote Control, and the Comcast / Spectrum Xumo MG3-R34010 Stream Box Remote Control.

How to install batteries
- Push the battery cover down and slide it off the remote.
- Insert two AAA batteries (sold separately).
- Then replace the battery cover.
Using your remote
- Input - Change your TV's input so that you can use connected devices like media players, gaming systems, and sound systems
- Power - Turn your TV on and off
- Volume - Make your TV louder or softer
- Voice Control - Search across your apps and control your TV with just your voice - press and hold the button, say a command, then release it
- Mute - Turn your TV sound on and off
- Settings - Press once to open the Settings menu, or press twice to access your accessibility shortcut
- More - See more options like program descriptions, depending on which screen you're on
- Navigation Pad - Select up, down, left, and right
- Select - Confirm your selection
- Last/back - Return to the previous screen
- Add - Add the TV show or movie you've selected to My List
- Home - Return to the home screen
- App shortcuts - Launch the labeled app when your TV is connected to the internet

How to pair the remote with your TV
Use these instructions for the Hisense, Element, or Pioneer remotes. For the Xumo stream box remote instructions, see here:
- If you set up your remote within 15 minutes of plugging in your TV for the first time, your remote will automatically pair. However, if you experience any issues, please follow the instructions under "How to pair your remote to an existing TV."
How to pair your remote to an existing TV
The following instructions allow you to pair your Pioneer, Element, or Hisense remote with your respective Pioneer, Element, or Hisense TV.
- Press the [MIC] button.
- Or press the [GEAR] button,
- Select Remote > Pair your remote to your TV
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
If pairing fails, turn off your TV and unplug from the power source. Plug TV back in, power on, and try steps 1 and 2 again.
How to pair the remote to a sound system
The following instructions allow you to pair your Pioneer, Element, or Hisense remote with your external audio system. Note that your audio system must accept IR signals.
- Press the [GEAR] button.
- Select Remote > Pair your remote and sound system.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
How to reset your remote
The following instructions allow you to reset your Pioneer, Element, or Hisense remote.
- Hold the 🔙 and + buttons for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns solid green.
- Type code 984 using the numbered keys. The light will blink red a few times.
- Hold the 🔙 and + buttons for 3 seconds again.
- Wait for the indicator light to flash red again.
- With your remote pointed towards your TV, press the HOME button, then the other keys to make sure your remote is working properly.

Note: Voice control will not work until you pair your remote. Voice commands only work when your TV is connected to the internet.
TIP: Always replace dead batteries with two brand-new batteries from the same manufacturer. Never use damaged batteries.
Instructions for Xumo Stream Box Remote
Pairing the remote
- From the Xumo OS home screen, select and hold the 1 and 3 buttons together on your remote.
- If using the later PR3 version remote (not pictured in this article): Hold [...] and MUTE for 1.5 to 3 seconds
- If pairing fails, turn off your device and unplug it from the power source, then try the reset remote steps again. Afterwards, plug the device back in and turn on the TV. Repeat step 1.

- Select the Settings button (with your remote pointed towards your device).
- Scroll down and select Remote Connected devices.
- Press OK/Select on remote.
- Scroll down and select Pair your remote to your TV and follow the onscreen instructions.
If pairing fails, turn off your device and unplug it from the power source and then try the reset remote steps again. Afterwards, plug the device back in and turn on the TV.
Note: Your remote may not be paired correctly with your TV, and the system may be using code that controls only one of the functions, not both. Try manually selecting the correct code.
Pairing with the TV using make and model info.
- Select Settings (with your remote pointed towards your device).
- Scroll down and select Remote Connected devices.
- Locate OK/Select on remote.
- Scroll down and select Pair your remote to your TV and follow the onscreen instructions. Enter the TV's make and model number when directed. Note: Most TVs list make and model numbers on the back of the unit.
If pairing fails, turn off your device and unplug it from the power source, then try the reset remote steps again. Afterwards, plug the device back in and turn on the TV.
Pairing the remote to connected speakers.
- Select Settings (with your remote pointed towards your device).
- Scroll down and select Remote Connected devices.
- Locate OK/Select on remote.
- Scroll down right and select Pair your remote to your Speakers.
- Follow the on-screen instructions there and enter the make and model of your speakers, located on the bottom of the device.
If pairing fails, turn off your device and unplug it from the power source, then try the reset remote steps again. Afterwards, plug the device back in and turn on the TV.

- Enter Special Function Mode by selecting and holding the Back and Add (+) buttons together for three seconds until the LED is persistent green.
- Select 981 on the remote.
Why is my remote unresponsive?
If your remote is unresponsive, it may be paired with a different device. Unpairing it may solve the issue. You can find more information for this remote here.
