Compatibility

Your remote control can be programmed to operate up to two devices, such as a garage door opener, gate operator, or commercial door operator, and has a SMART/LEARN button. Each button on the remote control works independently of the others and must be programmed separately. The images in this article are for reference only, and your product may look different.
NOTE: Read instructions thoroughly BEFORE beginning. If you are using this product with residential door openers, this product must be used only with door openers manufactured starting January 1, 1993, that use photoelectric sensors located near the bottom of the door track.
Programming to Garage Doors with Leaning Buttons

β«οΈ [Linear/MegaCode 318mhz, 1997-Current] Programming to Linear Garage doors
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the LEARN/SMART button on your garage door opener, then press and release the desired remote button 1 time (for Linear/MegaCode 318mhz, 1997-Current). Wait for the LED to stop flashing between presses.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.
Note: The garage door opener may click, flash its light, or activate during programming to confirm successful pairing.
π /π΄ Programming to garage doors with the Orange or Red Learn button
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the LEARN/SMART button on your garage door opener, then press and release the desired remote button 2 times (for openers with an Orange or Red Learn button). Wait for the LED to stop flashing between presses.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.
Note: The garage door opener may click, flash its light, or activate during programming to confirm successful pairing.
π£ Programming to garage doors with the Purple Learn button
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the LEARN/SMART button on your garage door opener, then press and release the desired remote button 3 times (for openers with a Purple Learn button). Wait for the LED to stop flashing between presses.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.
Note: The garage door opener may click, flash its light, or activate during programming to confirm successful pairing.
π’ Programming to garage doors with the Green Learn button
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the LEARN/SMART button on your garage door opener, then press and release the desired remote button 4 times (for openers with a Green Learn button). Wait for the LED to stop flashing between presses.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.

β«οΈ [Genie / Overhead Door 315mhz, 2005-Current] Programming to Genie Overhead Door Garage doors
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the LEARN/SMART button on your garage door opener, then press and release the desired remote button 5 times (for Genie / Overhead Door 315mhz, 2005-Current). Wait for the LED to stop flashing between presses.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.

β«οΈ [Genie / Overhead Door 390mhz, 1995-Current] Programming to Genie Overhead Door Garage doors
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the LEARN/SMART button on your garage door opener, then press and release the desired remote button 6 times (for Genie / Overhead Door 390mhz, 1995-Current). Wait for the LED to stop flashing between presses.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.
Note: The garage door opener may click, flash its light, or activate during programming to confirm successful pairing.
π‘ Programming to garage doors with the Yellow Learn button
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the LEARN/SMART button on your garage door opener, then press and release the desired remote button 7 times (for openers with a Yellow Learn button). Wait for the LED to stop flashing between presses.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.

Programming to Garage Doors via Dip-Switches
- Match the remote control's dip-switches located inside the battery compartment to the same pattern shown on your garage door opener. Note: the remote has 12 dip switches. If your garage door opener has only 8 dip-switches (for example), please use the first 8 dip-switches on the remote to pair. The remaining dip-switches can be ignored.
- Press and hold the PROGRAM button inside the battery compartment until the indicator light turns on. Release the button.
- Press and release the button you want to program on the front of the remote the number of times shown in the chart below, depending on your garage door model. Note: Wait for the indicator light to flash, then return to solid (on) between presses.
- Ex. for Genie 12-Code β 390 MHz; Press and release the button 14 times, according to the chart below. Making sure the indicator light returns to solid between each press.
- Press the PROGRAM button to save, then test the remote button. The opener should activate.
Additional Programming Notes
- The SMART/LEARN button or DIP SWITCHES are located either on the product or in an external receiver on or near the product. Consult your product owner's manual to locate the SMART/LEARN button or DIP SWITCHES.
- If you have a 2-position DIP-SWITCH and programming fails, reverse DIP-SWITCHES (OFF to ON and ON to OFF).
